Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / audio error and app error

Pretty normal, you can update both graphics and audio drivers; it may help a little but, those don't affect gameplay and are a dime a dozen in the error logs. I ignore them, have for years and it's fine. Ok, thank you for the information. Gr. Consuela

Hi, every time I play the game I get a lot of audio error and app error in my logs. I tried to upload the files, but that didn't work. Here some of the errors:
Audioerror:{1,18:03:35:867,00:00:10:245,588,ERROR,TSAudio,Segment at %DataDirectory%Res\Sound\Locale\%Language%\Sfx\Samples\Karaoke\ has no extensions defined in section DBSegmentDirectoryFiles },
Apperror:ERROR TSAudio: Segment at %DataDirectory%Res\Sound\Locale\%Language%\Sfx\Samples\Karaoke\ has no extensions defined in section DBSegmentDirectoryFiles
ERROR TSAudioMusic : Music category (Kopen) listed twice in category property set. .\source\TSAudioMusicManager.cpp(1667) ERROR TSAudioMusic : Music category (Bouwen) listed twice in category property set. .\source\TSAudioMusicManager.cpp(1667)
So I hope someone can help me to find out what the problem is.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Missing D3DERR
|

There is a Problem with Nivida cards and Norton AV running together with The sims 2 Try turning off Norton Completly then running the game. Seems The 2 programs use alot of Pagefile area and this causes a game crash. But disconect from the Internet if turning off norton. Hi Razamataz, I don't have Norton, but AVG. This doesn't take much space like Norton does. I do turn off AVG when I play the game, so that is not the problem. Thanks anyway...

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / sims 2 exeption
|

Exception code: 0xC0000005 (-1073741819) ACCESS_VIOLATION. System memory: 1024 Megabytes total, 224 Megabytes free I've copied the two lines above from your exception log. That exception code is related to a problem with your ram and can be cause my a bad driver, spyware, or bad ram. You can read more about it here. The second line gives me two vital pieces of information. It tells me how much ram you have and how much you have available to run your game. The game needs 256 mb to run the game, but there's only 224 mb free, in spite of you having over 1gb. Something may be running in the background to eat up your ram, or you might have a bad stick. Hi caffeinated.joy, I think my pc has to go to an expert, because I take all the steps you have told me before and I keep on getting errors that points at my driver or ram. Thank you for you're affort (again).

Today I could play over 2 hours and didn't get any errors. My pc even didn't reboot. Thanks, caffeinated.joy, for you're help. I went to see in my logs and I saw something I never seen before. It was an excel file that I couldn't upload, so I copied it to an other file.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Crashing after BV

It was in the exception log you attached to post number twelve. I'll copy and paste it here.
Exception time: 01/27/2008, at 01:41:40. Exception code: 0xC0000005 (-1073741819) ACCESS_VIOLATION. Current thread ID: 2220 (0x000008ac). Version information: Application/module path: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\De Sims 2 Op Reis\TSBin\Sims2EP6.exe Application/module version name: The Sims 2 EP6 Application/module version: 1.10.0.122 System version: Windows NT 5.1 System memory: 1024 Megabytes total, 272 Megabytes free. Application/module configuration: ReleaseSRT
After taking another look at the exception code, the other possibility is you may have some bad memory, or even a bad/corrupt driver, or something as simple as spyware. I had the same error happening about six months ago, and did everything I could to fix it. I found I had some bad memory, so I replaced it, and the problem was fixed.
Hi caffeinated.joy, I went to that site and subscribed. As soon as I can download that program, I will let you know. Thank you so much for you're help....
