Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Bon Voyage won't start!
|
on: September 11, 2007, 04:04:28 pm
|
I just installed Bon Voyage, and tried to launch it, well, I got the launch window (I dislike it, if anyone knows how to directly go to the game tell me how please!) so the hard drives starts to work, but nothing happens anyone know why, and got it to work once but I got this message about it not being able to run abut something taking up hard drive space, can someone help? I've seen it before when I upgraded to Seasons and when I mess around with my downloads. To fix it, I go to the \Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 folder and delete the cigen.package file and any file that ends in .cache. These will be regenerated the next time you launch the game. I think the game uses them to speed things up, but they can often get corrupted & cause the game not to start. Correction -- the cigen.package gets created when you run BodyShop. It can also get corrupted & keep BodyShop from launching.

Any plans to adapt these to other shapes? Not right away. I did the shapes I use most first. I have several other projects lined up before I can get back to these. dano

Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / Alternate female pirate outfits
|
on: August 30, 2007, 04:18:31 pm
|
I've been on a bit of a pirate kick lately. Here's another outfit. I downloaded a wonderful sim by Grand Duchess Emerald at Sapphire Sims named Mistress Carrie. Her outfit is based on besen's Padme mesh. I liked it so much that I made these based on it. Hope you like them. You'll need to download either the mesh or the Mistress Carrie sim for these to show up in your game. dano

Like I did with Marvine & Beosboxboy's buff guys, I adapted the standard female pirate mesh so that it matched the proportions of some of Warlokk's bodyshapes. There are new meshes for the 34C Enhanced, 34A Milla J, and Fashion Model shapes. They come with the standard red, blue, and black pirate outfits from Maxis. If you have a favorite recolor of those outfits (male or female), you can use BodyShop to add them to these meshes. Enjoy, dano

You rock.... any chance to get one for the huge body builder? Thanks. I haven't downloaded the HBB yet. I probably should for the sake of completeness. I'll keep you posted. If I do get it done, I'll update this thread.

Fantastic! I have been wanting this for ages. Thank-you so much. Any interest in doing the same for the long goth coat? I'll check it out. I think the next mesh I'd like to try is the standard vampire outfit with the cape. dano

Cool... Thanks for sharing! Im a little curius, is there a TUT somwhere with instructions to do what you did? On other bodyshapes I mean. Sorry I am new to meshing (working with mesh combos at the moment). Not that I know of, but I can tell you how I did it. I used SimPE and Milkshape & did it in two stages. I extracted the athlete gmdc from the package with SimPE & imported it into Milkshape with wes_h's importer. Then I clicked on the "Groups" tab & renamed the group from body to athlete-body; that's important for later. Then I exported it as a OBJ file. That removes the bone assignments, but I didn't need them. Next, I opened SimPE & started a new package. Then I used the PSJ mesh extractor to gather the 4 resources for the "ambodypirate" mesh. I extracted the gmdc & imported it into Milkshape. Then I also imported the athlete OBJ. You'll notice after this step that there are two groups - body & athlete-body. From then on I repeated these steps: - used the hide button in the Groups tab to hide the athlete-body group
- selected some vertices in the pirate body I wanted to move
- unhid the athlete-body
- moved the pirate's vertices until they were in the right places
Once I got something I liked, I deleted the athlete-body, exported the mesh with wes_h's exporter, and replaced the gmdc with SimPE. Doing it that way helped me avoid importing duplicate bones & made it easier to remove the athlete body when I was finished with it. It sounds more complicated than it is, I think.

Tired of your buff guys getting skinny when they dress as pirates? Well, I was, so I made these three outfits. They are the standard Maxis meshes that I modified so that they matched the proportions for the athlete, slim bodybuilder, and bodybuilder. They come with the standard black, blue, and red coats. I experimented and found out that any outfit based on these should work. If you have any of the fancier Pirate stuff from besen, Dr. Pixel, or Sussi, you can use BodyShop to convert them. ... Enjoy! dano

This is one of my current favorites, Ava Baer. She was made with Warlokk's Fashion Model mesh. The skintone is a Garkman Dark tone that I applied to that bodyshape. Her outfit is the Maxis red pirate outfit that I also adjusted to fit her bodyshape. Everything is included. She's got a standard Maxis Seasons hairstyle. The makeup is all custom by many talented modders. (Thanks to all of you for your work.) Check out the Clean Installer screenshot for details. Thanks also to Warlokk for his meshes. :worship: dano

Retired Creators / Guest Bodyshape Add-ons / Wicked Punk outfits (modest version) *Update 2007-02-07 - Teen versions*
|
on: January 26, 2007, 01:20:10 pm
|
This is a variation of the Wicked Punk outfits I posted on the InSim Adult site. They are the "non-Brittney" versions (in other words, they're wearing panties...) There are 3 body shapes (34C Enh, 34B Def, and 34A MillaJ v1) and three colors (red, blue, and purple). There are two styles -- black vest with lace sleeves & stockings and black panties, and white sleeveless Tee shirt with white stockings and panties. There are four files. You only need to download the WickedPunk-Meshes.rar file if you didn't download the adult versions. *** 2007-02-07 *** Teen versions I finally got around to finishing the Teen versions. There are the same colors and styles in Warlokk's Teen sizes of B- Medium and D-Medium. As before, you only need to download the WickedPunk-Teen-meshes.rar file if you don't already have the more naughty versions from Insim Adult. Enjoy, dano

Retired Creators / Casual : Vêtements décontractés / Polynesian grass skirts (Lavalava Raffia versions)
|
on: December 28, 2006, 01:21:00 pm
|
These are the raffia versions of the Polynesian skirts that I promised quite a long while ago. I had to rework the skirt mesh and redo the UV map until I got something that I was happy with. (Yes, I do requests, if you don't mind waiting a couple years:D ...) There are green and a brown raffia versions for each of the Bodybuilder, Slim Bodybuilder, and Athlete meshes. They are all based on Marvine and Beosboxboy's meshes, so the same distribution policy applies. Enjoy, dano

Retired Creators / Casual : Vêtements décontractés / Repost -- Polynesian skirts (lavalavas) for Bodybuilder, Slim BB, and Athlete

Rock on Dano!! These are still among the very best idea for the meshes yet! I hope that you will consider foing the grass skirts for the guys, Simboy did the Maxis normal, but I am still hoping you'll undertake the bb, slim bb, athlete, athletic girl, and female bb =) *wipes chin* Sure. I've already saved the textures from the Maxis package for the brown and the green leaf skirts. I'm getting ready to go on vacation, though, so if I don't get to it before then, it will have to wait until the end of the month. dano

I had these posted on MTS2, but I removed the whole series to post them on their adult site (since the female versions were topless). I got a request for the bodybuilder version, so I'm reposting it here. If you've downloaded the original version, you only need to download the mesh-polynesian-skirt-AMMarvineBeosBodybuilder-dano.package file, since I used the same files for the textures and material. Since the meshes were so similar, it was easy to make the Slim BB and Athlete versions too. I did a bit of fiddling with SimPE and made them use the same textures and materials as the Bodybuilder version, so the file size is much smaller. The pictures are using Don Lothario as a model. dano
