Well, while I was writing and taking pictures for my story, I ended up with a TON of unused pictures. They weren't bad pictures. No, not at all. Some were awesomely funny, they just didn't fit in the story. So here's the thread where I'll post them up and share them with you. Some of them are so good, It's almost criminal for me to keep them to myself...  :p
Because of forum rules, I'll post them in 600x375. At the end of each post though, i'll put a link to an album where you can see it in all their 1600x1000 glory! Haha, here's the first update! This first update's all about Bianca, the teenager in my story.

Awesome Crocodile drawing, you wish you were this good. (I upped his creativity to 10 because I wanted to see what toddlers draw. They draw like animals and stuff. There's a couple of drawings of his on the wall on the house, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't caught in a picture yet.)

Of course, I had to create an adult so I could finalize the family, so here she is. She's pretty much the same way she got generated except I made her lips thinner and gave her a hat.
The pictures are boring, I know. But this was all organized in about 10 minutes. Haha. I could add memories to the story now that these sims are set up!  :p

I liked writing the poem, the idea popped into my head Thursday night before I went to sleep, typed it out and polished it a bit Friday morning before school, and finished editing and took pictures in the afternoon.

The peom really fit with the pictures. :)

I love your pics Carl. I haven't been bothering with sims 3 photos. With starting school tomorrow and weather, I just haven't had time.. Did you know we've had the threat of two cyclones in two days, Olga crossed the coast earlier today near Port Douglas, and Neville (Now both just lows) will bring us heavy weather, so severe we're on a severe weather warning.. I hate weather.

These pictures took a lot less time than most of mine do, and ALL of the poses n stuff were just part of a romantic hug.  :D

Sims 3 is kinda hard to take pictures with, at least, set up ones.
2 cyclones? Wow. I had that same stuff before. We always had hurricane watch, hurricane warning, etc. We never really took it seriously beyond the point of stocking up on water. In the 2 years I've been there, it was just near misses and only one direct hit, and the one hit was a really weak one too. It was exciting in a way. Stay safe! :p

By the way, if you want to know anything about how I do any of my pictures, go ahead and ask away!
I'm probably going to do another "Behind the scenes" type update again. As soon as I get home, anyway. ;)

What this lot is (and why it's so blank) is because it's a staging lot. Greenscreen rooms, spacious stadium-sized rooms and other stuff like that. It's also the lot where I make my townies look different from each other because I'm to lazy to make completely new sims just for side characters and just in the background of other pictures. She is one of those said townies.  :p

Thanks! Hah. The explanations are there because I didn't notice how dangerous the pictures looked until I quit the game. The only tot truly safe was Jarred. So then I sorted the pictures by dangerous-ness.  :p

It's funny, it's like it's the opposite of the last update. Jarred is the only one who could be in trouble this time around. Jumping on couches is pretty dangerous. I should know. I actually used to do that a lot. Floors aren't forgiving. Even if they are covered in carpet, which his aren't.

Here's a little signature I made for one of my sims. I bet you can't guess what she likes to do. A LOT. I tried to make it a tiny bit effeminate, cause it's Megan's; not really mine in a sense. Okay, this week was the first week of the new semester. And wow. It felt like forever.
Needless to say, I get a ton of HW, and this homework doesn't exactly only take 15 minutes. So. You know... iTunes loads up. Gimp, Bodyshop, stuff like that. It loads itself while I'm trying to do some HW. and I mess around. About Thursday, I decided to try my hand at make-up stuff. It's pretty easy now that I look at it again. But hey... PAINTSLAP!

Oh it was easy to make the mess. I had to fill the BMW with gas first of course. After that, it was easy.  ;)
In actuality, it's made up of about 3 different stack of books, just rotated and places with snapobjectstogrid false. Just think of where the books would fall if the bookcase just got rammed from behind. See the little spread out triangle I made? Just think of where the books would be able to go, and possible obstacles in that path of travel. Just being technical...  ;D

Let me explain this picture. I let the welcome wagon in, as I usually do. And one of the three happens to be this guy. As you can see, he's eating a sandwich. It wasn't meant for him. After I let Nadine eat her noodles, I told Elizabeth to make herself a sandwich. (sexist stereotype anyone?) Well, after she prepared the sandwich, she decided to clean up after Nadine (completely on free will I might add!) And he just walked into the house and picked up her sandwich as she put away the bowl in the dishwasher, which is why she's standing where she is. He effectively stole a sandwich.

The door in the picture above connects to their living room, which is pretty random to be honest. This guy isn't even part of the family, he just felt like visiting. I don't know why. Sims never have reasons for what they do. It's either we tell them or they do it because they feel like it. Example of a sim's thoughts: "Hmm... I really need to use the bathroom. I recolored maxis pictures with SimPE, I'll send you a pm with some more info and stuff I personally do. Takes a tiny bit of photo-editing experience, but it's nothing you shouldn't be able just to learn right away. It's tremendously easy, first thing I did with my own CC.

It doesn't matter if you comp can take simpe. The wizards are all your going to really need. Unless you want to start recoloring custom pictures & paintings, (the wizard only does maxis) you should never even have to open the thing.  ;D
Or you could just be lazy like I was toward the end and just use the in-game easel and BV camera.  :p

Today, I bring you something truly amazing. Something so mind-blowingly awesome, that I think it completely redoes the entire sims 2 experience.

I present to you....
The Sims 2 in 3-DIMENSIONS!!!!!
That's right! 3D Sims 2!!!!!
I am not joking. Now let me show you a taste of this mind-numbing, mind-warping, mind-exploding experience!
But first. I'll explain how I stumbled across this. Well let's start here. I was Chatting with Steph, trying to help her find a reason why her video card seems to hate the sims 2 and 3. So while thinking of possible causes, I decided to look through my video card settings.
I just got this card (nVidia 9800GT) a few months ago. It's a really nice card, but to be honest, my first thoughts of it, "$150 for a video card(plus the $100 for a new power supply to run it)? God, computer stuff is expensive."
I take it back. I take all my doubts about this card back. While looking through the settings, I come across this section called "Stereoscopic 3D" I didn't know what that meant. I thought it was just some fancy way of saying "Make your game look awesomer"
I start the setup wizard to see what's up.
It gives me these two options. A full blown super high-tech way of seeing 3d, and a pair that look like regular glasses. At this point, I'm pretty surprised. I exit the wizard, not wanting everything in 3d when I'm not ready. Back in options there's this section talking about the comparability lists. For kicks I wanted to look up the sims 2. I was thinking "Heh, the sims 2 is so old. I doubt it's in here."
BUT IT WAS.
At this point, I'm fangirl-ing worse than a 13-year-old twilight addict at the New Moon premiere.  :D
I instantly pull up google and smash words that would give me more information of this little "way-to-good-to-be-true" thing about my graphics card.
I pull up the company website, and I rampage through, trying to find more info on this 3d thing.
I find out it's a $250 set for the full experience, not to mention you need a 3D-ready tv.
At this point I'm pretty disappointed. I can't afford $500+ just to play the sims 2 in 3D.
But WAIT. I look up a little more info and it turns out they also send out these little 3d glasses with some graphic cards to try out the 3d-awesome sauce.
I hurriedly dig through a mountain of cardboard boxes to find my graphics card box. As soon as I do, I open it up.

No dice. Turns out that while my card is compatible with the 3d, it didn't come with the "special" glasses I needed to try it out.
I looked on the site again, looking for a source. The glasses were $3 on ebay. So I instantly doubted how complicated they made the glasses sound on the website.
I say to myself "I can't wait. I NEED to do this now." I sprint out to my family's little dvd stash and eagerly look for "Spy Kids:3D" since I knew that the movie came with 3d glasses.
I quickly run through the set-up, the cheap paper glasses worked flawlessly.  :D
At this point the 15 minutes it take me to get to a neighborhood-view felt endless. The menus and such were regular 2d, but I wasn't worried. You can surf around the menus. I wouldn't lose hope until I got to neighborhood-view.
It didn't let me down.
Pleasantview looked amazing. The little buildings looked like little legos I could touch and grab. It was awesome. I spent a good 10 minutes flying around the place. I forgot to take pictures.  ;D
Then I loaded up a lot. A small one, I didn't have the patience for a large lot to load.  ;D

I sincerely hope you have a pair of 3d glasses lying around. I honestly do! Here we go!

Actually had some 3D glasses lying around, and it was really fun to watch (now I'm seeing everything in a mix of blue and red, even after taking them off... might have something to do with it being 5.20 am, and I've had a junkfood day since I've forgotten everything about breakfast and dinner...)

I really liked playing in 3d, it just made me cross-eyed when I got EXtREMELY close to objects. That's my only complaint about it. I think Ill go to some of my scenic lots tomorrow and snap some shots there.
The forest lot and the tropical lot especially. But it's 11:36pm where I am, and I got kicked off the comp right after this update.
I don't think I'll leave it like this forever though. XD
maybe for special occasions I'll turn it on. :)

That would be sweet. Most newish nVidia cards are compatible. Just search up nVidia 3d vision on google for more info.  ;D

I thought about it, but not everyone can see in 3D (luckily I'm one of those who can), and I get all cross-eyed when I use the crappy plastic 3D glasses over my own glasses. A few minutes works fine, but not for several hours... I also like better the normal pictures.

But maybe a 3D special (not chapter)?  ;)

You need a pair of simple plastic red/blue 3D glasses that comes with regular 3D movies on DVD or such.

The 3D glasses especially made for Avatar and other new 3D movies at the cinema won't work (I tried those, too).

That's disappointing. I tried the real3d glasses that came with avatar, and newer movies like that, those don't work. Like theraven already said.
You need OLD movie glasses. I do wish the newer ones worked though. They are a lot better.  :D
Search through your old dvds, that's what I had to do. Hopefully you all will find something.  :p

Well, while I was actually playing a family, they got robbed, and this cop came over. I was pretty much "I gotta change that. As soon as I stop playing this family." So I moved to this test lot. (you can tell my test lots with their not even logical interiors. Their mostly just photo places with GIANT rooms. (If you haven't noticed) And places I mess around with my sims.

I had the weirdest urge to keep a hat on her. I usually keep my townies looking rather close to how they were created by the game. So I took my time to decide on a hair style to fit under the hat. Luckily, because of my downloading sprees, I wasn't short in choices. Not in the least. ;D

Sims talking about math. I never paid too much attention to this problem. But now, I know exactly how complicated it is. These are supposed to represent elementary kids? Let me explain.
The problem stated is x= (1/2)y^2
I just started algebra 2, this year. And, to be honest. I pretty much JUST learned how to solve this kind of thing.
Well the formula looks like something you would use to look for a zero for a formula. Let me get something straight here, I'm not good with math so I might be wrong.
Anyway. I wanted to, for the oddest reason, put this in standard form. (It's looked like a pretty easy problem, to be honest. I did it in my head.)  
To get rid of the 1/2 next to the y, you divide by it. So we get -
2x = y^2
Then you move the x over to the other side of the equation, ending with,
2x + y^2 = 0
Not sure if that's properly in standard, but that's beside the point. It's 2 elementary school kids talking about this. And that's scary.  :D

It's pretty awesome in 3d, not going to lie. I do suggest buying some old 3d movie to give it a try. Moviestop is a great place if you have one near by. I am going to... Hmm. I don't know. Waiting for my lil bro to run out of money at the arcade.

ERRRT! Wrong. I knew most of it, but there were little things that I forgot about the game. Mainly the fact you can switch between sims with the space bar.

Hah, a few weeks ago I figured out my graphics card could make my games 3d, so I did that. And took screenshots and there's plenty of them. If you have an old pair of red and blue glasses lying around go ahead and check it out! The updates were the last two before this one.  ;D

This is a GOOD while ago. November 7th actually. Wow. That's a little half a year ago. Feels like I just started playing the sims still. I guess that's what addictions do to you huh?  :D

Hah. A few of you will remember this update. The one where I claimed I was close to uploading. Well, that was when I had pretty slack classes.
Which pretty much explains why my updates are rare to come by after January, with the exception of spring break.
I want to say I am uploading paints splats like this soon, but I don't want to lie. Again.

Here's some shots in the Cordova house I set up a good while ago. These were back in late Feburary.
It's pretty mischievous if you ask me. But I want to do something like this.  :p
I haven't given up on this story, to anyone interested. After switching classes, I haven't had time. Most of my freetime has also been taken up by drawing, but that's not saying much time at all.
Simply put, I also can't decide on what to do. It kind of branched off into two paths in my imagination. A drastic revision to what I was originally planning. But this new idea I could pull off much better.
I haven't dropped the story though. Just haven't had the time. I still brainstorm every now and then.

I was pretty much ramping up the pain for Bianca. I'm pretty sure it was because she took a nap after school instead of doing her homework like I told her too.
What's funny is that's pretty hypocritical of me. Sometimes I'm tired to the point that I, myself, take naps after school.  ;D
But honestly, I bet you guys force your sims to do homework pretty instantly when your just playing. Either that or have a hack that prevents homework. Or school altogether.  :D

Anyway, an update that's actually worth SOMETHING!

Well, while I was messing around with art, I've discovered several things that just make have a lot more emphasis, with not too much effort!

It's a pretty easy effect. Simply frame the subject, and overlap some of the border. It makes this nice 3D effect. I've been adding it to most of the portraits I've been drawing. XD

It's a lot more pronounced here, where two of the sections of the border are overlapped.
By the way, the background on this is placed in, she wasn't ever even close to this house.  :p

I'm thinking of writing a short tutorial on this. It's an EASY effect, one that ANYONE can do on their first experiments with a photo editor.
Would you guys like that? I don't want to put effort in when no one is interested.  ;D
FYI, the pictures themselves are not edited in anyway, I don't brighten my pictures, but it looks that way. I don't even sharpen them. heh heh.

Ok, I'll quickly set that up.
A plain background helps, it let's you have more freedom and a lot less detailed busy-work.
But a real background can work, it'd just take a bit more time.
I'll go ahead and show examples of both.
And other things you can do to make it more exciting, solid colors aren't too interesting.
While it gets the effect done, there's a lot more you can do.
I'll post again, (or edit depends if someone replies) when I'm done.
