help please??????????

All of a sudden I cannot play my game. it goes to where my houses were and then CRASHES. this has never happened before. I lost my houses that I have been decorating for ever it seems. what can be wrong???

Have you added any CC recently, specifically custom furniture, objects, or newly downloaded houses or uninstall an EP/SP?  If so, there may be an EP/SP requirement and you don't have that EP/SP.  Even if you haven't downloaded custom objects recently, you could have some sleepers that you just started to use and causing the problem.

Hi Tess. Have you tried removing your Downloads folder to your desktop to see if you can access your house? Remember NOT to save if you are able to. If you can go to your house then it's something in the Downloads folder. I've had to literally go through all my Custom Content to find something that was incompatible. Do you remember what you downloaded last before playing it?

If anyone else can give other advice it would be great.

Tess, after you back up your whole Sims 2 file do this:

1. Move the Downloads folder to your Desktop.
2. Start the game and try to go into one of your houses.

If you can enter them without it crashes then close the game (DO NOT SAVE).

If you can then it's got to be something with your downloads. Lets start from here. Let us know when you try it! We're here for you!

Thanks JOOwish!     I  moved the downloads folder to my desktop and started the game and that didn't work.

You might have a corrupt lot/house.

Try playing a different house and see if it still happens.

If it doesn't, then you know the house is corrupt.

that's right ekozski!  everytime I went to this house or even tried it crashed. it never did that before. I downloaded another house and it is ok for now except when I installed the BV patch  my sims cannot fish!  that's the first time that this has happened. I really don't want to see what else is going to happen.

Tess, I cannot help you with Bon Voyage. I don't have it.

The only thing I can suggest is, did you download the patch?
