Sims2Pack Installer and BodyShop issues

I have a new PC now unfortunately with Vista installed. Now I am having extremely long periods of time waiting for the Sims2Pack installer and bodyShop to load. Sometimes it takes nearly 3-5 minutes at a time for them to load. Also there is alot of hard drive activity afterwards and it can take a very long time before my hard drive light to stop blinking after closing down bodyshop or installing Sims2pack files. This is very annoying and I have tried everything that I know of to troubleshoot this issue. I even went as far as turning off the annoying Vista search service which I was sure of causing all the slowness and lag but it has not improved one thing with this strange issue. The game itself loads really quickly and access the hard drive very little after the intial load.

Anyone with Vista have this or any simular issues with Sims2?
