What is the size of your 'Downloads' Folder ?

lol! I remember how I would look at the size of mine (474MB and 1174 files) and think I had one of the biggest sims 2 dl file out there... I couldn't be more off, though I've recently been downloading constantly lol.

I topped out at 9MB!!! What a mess. I nuked the whole game and started over. I'm at about 2MB now, load times are really quick and I don't miss a thing.

I have over 17.9 gb of downloads. It's at such a critical point now i am no longer able to play the game. i just got seasons and only made it to autumn so far as it takes 3 hours for the game to load and able to play only slightly--mostly it's stopping for every animation.

Here's the thing. i have decided to unload everything as i don't even play most of the downloads i've collected.

so my question to the sims community:

If you had to make a list, what are the all time basic must have default skins, clothes and hair meshes, patches, blur removers, hacks you would have to make the game more interesting and realistic?

Currently, it's a little ove 4 gigs, with around 10,200 files in it. xD No wonder it's a slow load for me.

Thanks to a booty binge I have now crossed the 16,000 mark (16,626 files in 238 folders) and am up to 6.65 GB. After my pre-Seasons purge I was down under 12,000; I feel so much better now

Good lord! I thought mine was big, but now it's just a whimpy pathetic 602.5 MB. 1,583 items.

But...um...Micco... How do you have your downloads in several folders? Doesn't The Sims 2 require a single downloads folder? :oogle: :sad1:

Yeah, I recently went on a downloads dump. I removed all the stuff I knew I'd never use and anything I haven't used. It releaved a lot of stress on my eMac.

One Downloads folder yes but you can have many sub-folders in the DL folder. It helps to neaten the clutter, well sort of.

1.01 GB atm in my story/contest folder, will probably go down when I finish the new default skinset I'm working on (same skins I'm currently using there, just a different method)
