Queen Min, also known as Empress Myeongseong 1851-1895.
Min was the last queen of Korea. She worked hard to try and modernize her country and maintain independence. She was queen when Japan was newly industrialized and looking to acquire new territories. Viewing her as a threat to Japanese interests, she was assassinated by Japanese soldiers. Today she is viewed as a national heroine to the Korean people.
This is my impression of what Min would have looked like; an epitome of elegance and grace. There are no confirmed pictures of her, only speculated ones, so no one really knows what she looked like.
